How You Can Help
Helping Reduce the Animal Overpopulation Crisis in the South
Every time one of our rescuers saves another animal, a recurring thought always comes to mind: "There are too many and not enough homes." We are constantly battling whether to put our efforts toward spay/neuter to try and solve the problem, but these babies are looking at us needing our help NOW. If we stop rescuing to concentrate on spay/neuter, what will happen to the ones needing help right now?
It is a sad reality and our main need from those who choose to support us is MONEY in our Spay/Neuter Fund. This way, we can concentrate on rescuing while the animals are getting altered and this joint effort saves more animals.
Every animal adopted out by Happy Dogs of New England is altered. We make exceptions ONLY to those animals who are very old or very sick and who have been placed in special homes so they can be taken care of.

Our transport division saves animals directly from kill shelters and works to get these animals on live-saving transports to recieving no-kill shelters. This method of rescue is the fastest way to save animals and get them to safety. . .but it isn't easy. It is hard work and takes money. Every transport takes money for gas, required vaccinations, and miscellaneous expenses. Please consider sponsoring a transport. Every $100 helps to save a vanload of animals who wouldn't otherwise be going to safety.PLEASE consider joining our e-list, staying apprised of our efforts and helping us with a monthly donation, even if it is a small one, to help curtail the sad reality of overpopulation of our companion animals.
Too many are left to die a tragic death. . .
